Behind New Narratives
People speak into my life all the time—about my paintings, my music, my friendships, etc. Lately, it’s been about being a good writer. It’s crazy to even consider myself a writer. As a kid, I hated writing. I was a math nerd and definitely not a storyteller. But at the start of my adulthood, words became my way to let people in to my heart. I wanted to communicate my inner workings behind my art. I wanted to talk about the good stuff and the ugly stuff. And especially when my older brother passed away in 2012, I had things to say. This in turn brought me closer to the people who were listening.
I’ve been using my instagram as a place for deep captions and mini blog posts. I just like it that way. But the more I crave for furthering my photography, the more I crave for new stories to tell. I can talk all day of my life’s experiences. I can write a clever caption and send it off to the world. However, more can be done here.
This new series #chasingnewnarratives is about the themes that resonate with you as well as me. I hope to invite others in creating content too. So let me know if you have any ideas brewing and throw them my way. You’re amazing, dearly beloved. Thanks for listening.
